What happens to contacts that already exist?
What happens to contacts that already exist?
Before creating anything, CRE Fuel checks each row against your existing contacts by email or phone number. If it finds a match, that row is skipped entirely. Nothing is written and your existing contact is left exactly as it was.Importing can only ever add people. It never changes anyone you already have. That is deliberate, and it is why re-importing a list is safe. The trade-off worth knowing: if you fix a phone number in your spreadsheet and re-import, that correction will not reach CRE Fuel, because the row matches an existing contact and gets skipped. To change someone who is already in your list, edit them in CRE Fuel directly.A row with neither an email nor a phone number cannot be checked, so it is always created. That is the one way an import can produce a double.
