# Update Your CRE Fuel Account and Notification Settings

> Keep your profile, time zone, phone settings, and notification preferences current so CRE Fuel works the way you need it to every day.

Your account settings control everything from your display name to how your phone line behaves. Keeping them current takes a few minutes and saves a lot of confusion later.

## Profile

Set your name, contact email, and time zone here.

    Go to **Settings > Profile**.

  <Step title="Update your details">
    Edit your name, email address, and time zone as needed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Save**.
  </Step>

<Tip>
  Set your time zone correctly. Your daily scorecard resets at midnight in your local time. If the time zone is wrong, your numbers will roll over at the wrong hour.

## Phone

Connect the phone you call from, and decide whether calls get recorded.

    **Settings > Phone > Your Phone.** Verify your cell number here. This is what your contacts see when you call, and where callbacks ring. You are not assigned a number and there is none to choose. See [Connect Your Phone](/getting-started/setup-your-phone).

  <Step title="Call Recording & Summaries">
    **Settings > Phone > Call Recording & Summaries.** Off by default. Turn it on and recorded calls get audio plus a written summary on the contact's timeline.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Texting (SMS)">
    **Settings > Phone > Texting (SMS).** The one-time carrier registration that has to be completed before texts will deliver.

<Warning>
  **There is no consent-notification setting, and CRE Fuel never announces that a call is being recorded.**

  Roughly a dozen states require every party on a call to consent before it can be recorded. CRE Fuel does not ask for that consent and does not play a disclosure. If your situation requires one, **you have to say it yourself** at the start of the call.

  Recording laws vary by state and can depend on where each person is sitting. Check your state's law, or ask your attorney, before you turn recording on. See [Recordings and Notes](/calling-texting/call-recordings-and-notes).

## Notifications

Choose which events send you an alert and how you receive it.

    Go to **Settings > Notifications**.

  <Step title="Set your preferences">
    For each alert type below, choose **Email**, **Push**, both, or neither.

    | Alert             | What it means                          |
    | ----------------- | -------------------------------------- |
    | New Text Reply    | A contact replied to one of your texts |
    | Follow-Up Due     | A scheduled follow-up is due today     |
    | Deal Stage Update | A deal moved to a new pipeline stage   |

    Click **Save**.

## Password

Change your password at any time from the Security tab.

  <Step title="Open Security settings">
    Go to **Settings > Security**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start the password change">
    Click **Change Password**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Follow the prompts">
    Enter your current password, then enter and confirm your new password. Click **Update Password**.

  After changing your password, you will be signed out of all other active sessions. Sign back in on your phone or other devices.
